why after 2 weeks is my baby still coughing and breathing fast? shes been on breathing treatments as well.?
My 4 mo old daughter has had a nasty cough for 2 weeks now, her breathing at 3am ths morning was enough to scare you half to death. She has been on nebulizer for about a week now and just 3 days with the added steroid. Now is this something I should be worried about or take her in? I have been doing everything right, the humidifier, and her on time breathing treatments. It’s her breathing that scares me, fast, and her stomach retracting so you see her ribs. Now this is not all the time it comes and goes. I’m holding her right now and i can feel a weezing in her back. On top of all this she has a slight murmur. HELP PLEASE.

Wheezing, grunting and retractions are a sign of respiratory distress. So is a respiratory rate of over 45 breaths per minute. If you can’t see a doctor immediately, I would take her to the ER. She is working too hard to breathe and that’s not good for her heart. Good luck.
