Rattling and whistling noise when breathing in.?
Hi, I’ve had a bad cough for the past two weeks now, have been taking Venos cough syrup but, although improved, I’m still coughing up thick, yellow mucous. This morning I”m hearing a rattling noise (like a baby’s rattle) followed by a whistle (like a bird call) in my head when I breathe in deeply. Is this mucous rattling in my airways?

i don;t wanna freak you out but you might have a cancer obscuring your breathing ways and thats the sound of the ait whistling past. or you know it could just be mucus,
either way it doesnt sound good,go see doctor,or a hospital

You really some antibiotics, to get rid off the infection and to clear up the airways, the rattle is the mucous.

It sounds like mucous is slightly blocking your airways. It might be worth trying a decongestant tablet like Sudafed, and maybe an inhalant like Olbas oil. If it still persists after a couple of days, definitely visit your doctor, as you might need antibiotics.

Most likely yes. If you have yellow mucus, you have an active infection and it needs to be treated with antibiotics. The rattling and whistling noise is cause by partially blocked airways. When you pucker you lips and blow, you hear a wheezing sound coming through the small opening in the lips. When air goes through a small opening in your nose or airway it can make a sound like that. The rattling is like blowing through a straw into milk. the wind is flowing through thick mucus.
I doubt you have cancer. I would put money on a sinus infection or rhinitis. Good luck

every time i cough i get that loud hacking noise from the chest(look below for more)?
i think im getting a cold or the flu…is there any thing i should do or take so i dont get sick!?because im baby sitting tomorrow and going out to the movies tonight. and i really dont have time in my life to get sick.please help!
Answer by Backyard Archie
The hacking noise is congestion in your lungs, which means that you have a cold, virus, etc. that’s gotten into your lungs and your body is literally trying to drown it out. Take something like Mucinex to clear the congestion, other cold/flu meds (DayQuil/NyQuil), and drink plenty of fluids. Try to cut down on caffeine until you feel better….caffeine can lead to dehydration. Try to rest as much as possible.
I once had a hacking cough that I ignored until I ended up with a very bad cough, chills, and a high fever. Because I ignored it, my minor cough turned into bronchitis, which is pretty nasty, and you don’t want it.
If over-the-counter stuff doesn’t help, go see your doctor as soon as possible.

2 month old baby has a cough and a stuffy runny noise?!?
what can i do?
Answer by Courtney
In a baby that young just give him TLC and let it run its course. NO medicine or anything. if a fever starts take him to a hospital asap!!! for the cough you could rap him up in a blanket and take him outside early in the morning to get frsh air tht would clear his airways and help him stop.
Answer by Kelli
dont freak! first of all….its allgery season so he probally is allergic to pollen or something or maybe an allgern is bothering him. second of all it WILL run its corse. but no medecene would probally make it worse
